I have a gremlin in my ignition I need to find.( see my earlier thread) I have been using a Micronta multi-meter for simple volts and ohm readings but I want to upgrade to something more versitile, without breaking the bank. Any advice on this or my failed ignition?

Bill, you're probably right in your diagnosis but I'd wait for the DVA tester before buying any parts.

I've read that advice from you and many others many times and will abide. Is that an un-common failure? If so, I will need to replace the stator, correct? Thanks Bill

Correct. Charge coils are part of the stator. If they are bad replace the stator. Its not a "real" common failure but it does happen.

Search the internet for Electronic Specialties #640. It'll help keep bucks in your wallet.
