I got the boat put back together tonight and it runs like a champ. The gimble bearing did slide on the drive shaft okay I dont know what happened the first time. I did fill the outdrive fluid with 64oz (the required amount)of fluid and it didnt quite make it to the dipstick I added a little more and then ran the engine for a little while and needed to add just a little more. I will check it one more time tomorrow before we go out. Does anyone else have experineces where it takes a little more than the 64oz? Its a cobra outdrive on a 4.3. Thanks again everyone that gave me advice.

It's nothing to worry about. You never know if you got shortchanged in the oil you purchased.
