Injector labeled "AutoBlend"...not VRO. Merc Oil Injected 115hp, Ser 165977. Info using this forum says 1986. Removing Oil injector, which is installed in fuel line between fuel tank bulb pump. Only other connection three wires from injector pump to motor; white, purple and black. My ohm meter says black is grounded to motor. Since there is no physican connection to motor, I assume removal will be ignore wires, disconnect injector unit (autoblend), use 50:1 oil/gas ratio straight from tank to motor. Is this a correct assumption and will over heating sensor/horn still work. I bought this motor/boat about 8 years ago, used, and it has been mostly stored since then.

Re: Mercury Oil Injector (AutoBlend)

Okay. For past few days I searched "VRO" and "Oil Injection" and read the posts. The term "AutoBlend" was not mentioned anywhere. I just learned about AutoBlend today. So I did a search for "autoBlend" and found all sorts of answers...but none defining the purpose of the purple and white wires, which I assume are low oil and high temp circuits...Interesting...the one post about filling the oil reservoir with 50:1 to provide a sort of redundancy for the fuel system....I am already ten over my 3 score + ten, so I gotta lot to learn.
