I recently purchased a 1999 15 hp 4stroke- Suzuki outboard. The guy said it hadnt' been used much. It ran fine for the first 14/ tank, then it started acting up. When trolling, it would stall and have to be choked to get going again. It would also starve for fuel occasionally when the throttle was wide open. The ball would be soft when this happened. Squeezing the ball before the engine quit would solve the problem. The tank was not air locked at the time, and the ball was not sucked in. This stalling and bogging down only happens occasionally, but enough to be a pain. I have checked the hose and ball, there seem to be no leaks. I blew back through the hose with no luck, and i was able to suck fuel through the line. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue?
