Tach. for 25HP Mercury

I have a Mercury 25XD with manual start. What are my options for installing a tach.? Can someone tell me how to hook the tach. up? Thanks for all help!

I'm not sure if it has an alternator. How can I tell for sure?

Look for 2 yellow wires coming from under the flywheel going to a rectifier. Or check the voltage at the battery while the motor is not running, then start it and see if the voltage goes up. and check the parts lists.

Ther's always the Tiny Tach. Sorry no idea on how well they work. Nice idea though...... Maybe someone here has some familiarity.
