68 Johnson 9.5 Prop shaft oil retainer troubles??

The Prop shaft oil retainer sent to me by Brp will not fit into the gearcase head even though the part # matches on thier site,anyone have any suggestions i am lost.

BRP [Bombardier Recreational Products] is the manufacturer, they don't actually sell parts at retail

I can only tell you that the Sierra Kits that they sell here at Iboats work ok.
