I got half way to work this morning when I remembered some paperwork I had left behind. I drove back home, dived into the house and ran upstairs to the office, at the top of the stairs I was met with this.

No dogs allowed on my bed so she has taken to the spare room.
The black one is mine "Nellie", the King Charles used to be Sue's mums dog "Rosie", the Lapso is Sue's sisters "Molly" we are looking after it while she's on holiday.

Who was it who said "It's a dogs life"

No dogs allowed in my bed either, good thing there is not a bed in our spare bedroom or I could see my wife doing the same thing! You don't see too many King Charles Cavaliers around here, are they more common on that side of the pond?

We bought a king size bed so that there would be room fo our 2 "children". One black lab and the other a lab-border collie.

Yes we do seem to have a lot of them over here, they are one of the more popular choice of dogs for older people. It's not my idea of a dog, very cute but limited brains. As for the Lapso, one of those robotic dogs from Japan would make a better pet.

Shucks RPJS I saw the topic and then (with pic) and thought oooer missus this is gonna be good :D
DOH!

Are you sure that isn't your daughter: looks too young to be your missus :}
Must have been a child bride!

I suspect that the same thing happens when I'm night-shift, unless the wife has a smelly lover with short wiry black hair...................hang on a minute that sounds just like our postman

I do have irrefutable proof that my "No Dogs on the Furniture" rule is being ignored!

Stan, Is that big one a Black Lab\Blue Heeler? My first mate Buster looks an awful lot like him/her.

Jeff the big one (Io, short for iolanthe) is a cross breed. She's got "something" mixed with short-haired German Shepherd, hence the barking all the time!

The pup one of a pair that we rescued from being put to sleep. Owner hadn't expected his nine-yr old springer spaniel to be naughty with a black lab. He couldn't find homes for the last two in the litter so we took pity on them both (one boy, one girl). Four years on and we now realise what we took on: what a combination: Springer Spaniel/Black Lab crosses are bonkers! Never take them near water: they don't want to come out!

Here's another cute picture for RPJS, this is the brother of Ellie (in the picture above). He's called Zeph (from Zepheryus; God of the Wind, very appropriate if we feed him the wrong types of food.................)

Cute pups there Stan!

Our Buster came as a package deal with my wife. Here he is catching a few zzzz's on the water. He's supposedly 1/2 Black Lab and 1/2 Blue Heeler. He must not have gotten the love for swimming that Labs have. He absolutely hates gettin in the water! Sure does enjoy a boat ride though. d:)

There's a whole shed-load of motorists in the North East of England would defo disagree with you there RPJS, but I am really............and I keep falling into the trap of trusting the fluttering eyelashes of a "pretty young thing" if she's doing something wrong on my beat :'(
My partner keeps walking away in disgust as I either let 'em go or even help them (breaking the rules too!).
I have toughened up recently because my oppo was threatening to leave me on a motorway somewhere, in the dark, in the rain, and nekked :^

Jeff: our three love the water, we just don't love the smell of wet dogs in the car :%

Here is something you will appreciate Stan:
I like a dog with attitude, bad attitude, hence I want a Scots Terrier, but at the present I am not permitted.
We had 2 Westhighland Terriers over a 20yr period, then an Airdale terrier, which we lost at 2yrs. Anita has not got over that balls-up by the vet, so I will have to wait till she says 'yes'.
Cheers
Phillip

Re: Caught my wife in bed this morning (with pic)

Westies are great dogs Phillip and the Airedale is lovely. Just show her the picture of Zeph as a pup and she might relent although I know how she feels when you lose one. It's a terrible feeling, a real loss of a member of the family.

Ta for that Techno, one of my old teachers reckoned I'd make either a great lawyer or spend my life in prison :'(
