Well, he managed to give alcaholism a bad name.

Does anyone think his tirade will hurt his career? I don't

It wont hurt his career, but it sure will be a tough sell for him as a person.
I was disappointed.

I was dissapointed too.. But then, i have done stupid things before too. I'm just glad nobody was hurt.
If i was him, I'd find a new town where the people weren't on the paparazi roll call so much. It must be hard to have a life when you got them azclowns following you everywhere you go.

Is he an alcoholic or just a drunk? I'm also glad he didn't hurt anyone. We won't even get into insanity pleas.

Re: Mel Gibson

Since I didn't know what you guys were speaking of, I did a search. Found out he was found drunk driving, and then supposedly spouted anti-sematic statements. And from what I was reading, every news story focused on the supposed(officer's word only) statements, rather than the DUI.

So it appears that saying something against a Jew while drunk, is worse than driving drunk. Go figure...

Being in this silly town it is getting really old fast. All the local radio shows, all the syndicated shows, all the local TV news shows, the newspapers, all the . . . blah, blah, blah. Make it stop!!

You know what's cracking me up? The claim that he looks "blurry eyed" in the mug shot. It almost looks like a publicity shot to me. Hair's perfect, smile, the whole bit.

And how do you hurt a bazillionaire's career anyway? Did you see what he made last year alone? 200+ million . . .

Re: Mel Gibson

[colour=blue]He has anounced that he wants to meet with Jewish leaders to reconcile and begin the healing process (his words).

One movie deal cancelled yesterday, a movie about the holocoust. (Disney/pixar I think).

This will hurt his hip pocket but it's only a drop in the ocean. I may be wrong, but isn't hollywood virtually owned by jews? If so, he's up the creek without the preverbial paddle.

Just saw on the alphabet news yesterday that the Deputy that stopped him is jewish. I wonder if that has anything to do with this continuing "news" story?

Re: Mel Gibson

If every cop reported all the nasty stuff that was said by their suspects (or whatever you want to call them) there would be enough from one day to read for a year.

People sometimes get mad and say things they don't really mean,,,,,,,,,drunks say things they barely can remember and then thats maybe.

I look at it as publicity for Gibson,,,,,,good or bad doesn't matter to most.

In his business even scandal is good publicity.

Anti Semitic comments - while they were bad, I don't hold them in any sort of offence, not because I'm not Jewish, rather, I've been really drunk before and have done some really stupid things before when I had some alchohol in me.

What I think is wrong is the fact he was drunk driving.

I am disappointed in him also but there is an odor about this whole thing. I watched the interview with the deputy on the news and it certainly seemed he wanted his 15 minutes of fame. As SS said, if every cop reported what perps called them or said to them it would fill a stadium. Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems as if this is a little over played.

I think one of the main problems was the arresting officers boss changed the police report to make his GOOD FRIEND Mel Gibson look better.....

Well, you know what they say. "Bad publicity is better than no publicity".

If this goes like anything else, he'll survive it and soon it will be like it never happened.

His Crucifixion movie was deemed by some jews as anti semitic. I think that it is just payback time! Much ado about nothing, IMO.

In the Hollywood community it generally considered bad form to point this out. Don't forget, Jesus was Hebrew.8)

Hollywood has been insulting catholics for years. Haven't heard any apologies out of them. A guy gets drunk and shoots his mouth off. There's news. I can't begin to tell you how little I care about this story.

I am disappointed in Mel. For driving drunk. He has publically apologized. Forgive him or don't the sun will rise tommorrow.

Jesse Jackson pumps off Heimie town and nobody says a word. But based on the movies that are currently out in theaters, no it can't possibly hurt him.

Mels a drunk, alcoholics go to meetings.8)
