Im not sure what i have for a motor in my boat but it an omc and is blue..4 cyl..in board..some one stole my outdrive and im not sure what kind i need to replace it..the model # is 982740 ser.#290532

they took it right off the back of my boat..I tried to put a pic on here but all that shows up is a red x

Unbelievable. To post a pic, you have to upload to a host site somewhere. There's a bunch of free ones that a Google search will yield. Once you have it hosted on their site, you use the link they give you. Reply to this thread, click on the yellow picture icon, delete the prefilled text and paste the link in. I have never heard of an outdrive being stolen...

Happens around here all the time. Lakes aren't big enough for slips, so when folks camp, boat is on the trailer in a lot. Most mechs hate them, but McGard makes a locking nut for both props and outdrives. About 60 bucks retail each. Sorry to here that and I hope the fool who stole it wrecks it soon.....

I can't help with the part numbers, but I hope everything works out, did you have boat insurance? Can you claim it on homeowners or something?
