Kinder, Gentler iboats?

After all the locked threads recently, I kind of thought there was a moratorium on politics in general. At least until things cooled down a bit. Was I wrong?

A tongue and cheek thread was locked last week that showed photos of the 2 Goofies.

I just noticed a crack was taken at a high profile democrat, and not one person spoke up....hmmm. By the lack of response to it, it must have been accepted.

Really, I could care less, except for the double standard that appears to be in place.

I guess this is what was meant by "the good ole days" as posted in an earlier thread. You know, where all the bashing is accepted, except when it happens to W or any other republican. Then, it's off limits.

The policy is:

"Bashing" consists of any criticism of our current administration and their policies, or other republican, and is frowned upon.

Mindless ridicule of dems, and especially Hillary, is welcomed and all in good fun.

As in any game, the first order of business is learning the rules.

Oh, I can take the heat. The problem with the heat is that when it gets too hot, the rules start changing, in your favor. When I say "your," I speak of anyone except dems/libs. I also completely agree with your assessment.

However, when one side is holding the other to a different standard, I will take issue with that.

SHEESH! Lighten up you guys! When I made miy little, ol' Hillary - is- a- cross- between- whatever crack, my intentions were purely humorous, Not political! Those of you who have known me know that I don't respond to political posts very often. I enjoy this board for what it is, a group of knowledgeable, funny, interesting (if not semi-insane) people from all over the world. The mods do a remarkable job of keeping things civil and in line for the most part. I don't agree with them all the time, but if I am to post here, then I'll abide by the rules. I probably don't agree with their politics, and they probably don't agree with mine. I'm neither Repub nor Dem. My political barometer probably points closer to Hillary than to W. I think ol' Hillary's hide is probably thick enough to withstand a joke or two. But if this will even things up and soothe some hurt feelings, then here ya go:" Rumsfeld is a big ol' poopyhead with greasy hair!" There, I feel better now.

HH, although what you said about Rummy is true, you missed the point.

RF posted a very funny pic. Those things could not bother me any less. I am not even a fan of hers. Unless of course, she is running against Jeb. Even if I were a fan, still, I would not care. I can take all the ribbing, good natured or otherwise anybody can dish out.
