Where is the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the hull? What type hull is it?

It measures 4 inches above the bottom of the boat.
Can't really afford a new Jack plate, so I'm going to have to fabricate something for my tilt and trim system....the price was right for that too :D, The outboard is supposed to be a longshaft, according to the numbers, and i just recieved the 4" extension that goes to it. I found a shaft in Maryland, but I don't remember the place I found it.

p.s. I just found a cracked coil.....:(

my cavitation plate is 4 inches above the bottom of the boat, the lake I frequent is Idle speed only and it squirrels like crazy!!....sometimes I feel like loosining it up and throwin it in reverse.....however I think of my past luck and I can just picture having a 55 h.p. in my livewell, lol.....ugh....

Can you cut a notch in the transom? Your have a short shaft motor on a transom designed for a long shaft.

ya gotta get it down. likely to burn it up lack of water to engine at that hight. And with little control you are a potential accent looking to happen.
