Hello, I am new to the forum. I did notice your ranking system. I was actually in the Navy and reached E-5 (petty off 2nd class) before I called it quits. Will this promote me fast here8)

Anyway, when I prime the bulb the motor is flooding. Gas is coming out of the breather plate over the carbs. I just re-built the carbs a month or 2 ago I thought. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks,

John

Re: 1988 90hp Johnson flooding

Found out that both carbs are flooding horribly when you pump the bulb. The flooding is coming from the base of the verticle shaft that runs up the carb on both sides. When the bowl housing is off, what are the 2 circular capps that have to be removed. I did not do that when I just did the carbs. My manual says something to the effect of immulsion pick-up tube? Is someone familiar with this and would this cause a flooding issue?

Thanks.
