Hi! I am a newbie both here and to outboards...this being the first one I have ever bought or owned. I have not yet gotten a manual for it, and I have a question. On the tiller handle at the throttle end, there is a small rotating knob that has detents in it when I turn it...what the heck is that for?
Also..prior to purchase I checked the following...did I overlook anything?
1. Compression on both cylinders was good. 110 on top 105 on bottom.
2. Good spark on both
3. Started good
4. GREAT water flow from the tube
5. oil in foot looked good with no water
6. prop was in pretty decent shape
Idle was shakey but I discovered they had the wrong plugs in it...it ran fine but would not idle well.
Thanks for the help!
