Hi All,
I have a Ford Indmar 351W Direct drive and as I'm in the UK i can't find a manual for it, I am looking at doing its yearly service soon and am going to do the following:

Change:
Dist Cap (Tan one)
Rotor
Points + Cond
Spark Plugs
Plug Leads
Impellor + Gasket
Oil Filter
Oil
Oil in Trans

My question is :
I am missing anything for a normal service and what type of oil should I use for the engine, 10-40w, 15-40w, ? note. I don't know what has been done to this engine before.

cheers
ross

We like LPG as its 1/2 the price of petrol here in the UK, lots of ski boats here run LPG and never have any issues with the LPG, the only down side we have is you have to let the engine warm up or the carbs will ice up from the cold LPG.

interesting. we messed around with some commercial natural gas engines a while back and actully got them bumping some good power. you can run that stuff up to 16:1 compression.we got up quite a bit but we never got that high. our windsor was pushing almost 400 horse on the schools dyno. we built it for a school project. the high performance teacher bought it from us. i wish we never would of sold it. oh i was gonna say that we used thermal wires around the carb and valves to keep em warm. like defroster wires in your car. because at wide open, the thing would ice up bad.
