WHAT!!!!!! we are still at $3.09 was between $3.17-$3.25 before that for the longest time. I hate this reformulated crap we have here. You get 5mpg on average less with it, so u use more of it. Makes no sense

Went to 2.68 here last friday,in the next town its still 2.89.still cheaper than a quart of beer:^

What's so hard to figure out?

-We can't drill.

-We can't refine. (not ONE new refinery in over 25 years)

-We can't use what has already been tapped.

-We are COMPLETE slaves to the mid-east oil reserves.

We have plenty, yet we can't touch it due to "feel good" small interest groups.

If one votes (pro business), you're labeled as a "hate monger".

This topic baffles me.

One of the alphabet networks named Katy Couric as their new anchor. Sorry, I don't know which one, since I do not watch network news.

If you think you are going to get the truth, from her, you're sadly mistaken. She's got her Million$$$$. She doesn't give a rip about the average Joe. She has an agenda, and that is to strip you of what you have.

What would be a great deal? What would be fair?

I think next month we will see a drastic fall in prices if Iran and Nigeria settle down. No major hurricanes will help a lot to let prices fall.

Honestly for the good of the oil industry, 40-50 dollars/barrel is the ideal price. These high prices are already taking their toll on the economy and will hurt the oil companies in the long run.

We are still at $3.14 to $3.09, it seems that the gas prices have hurt tourism around this area. (Niagara Falls) Hotels, restuarants, tour bus companies are all being hurt as well as us little guys.

Let's not forget: TAXES.

If YOUR government TRULY wanted to give you relief, they would have dropped the taxes, or lessened them.

But, they didn't. What does that tell you?

Oil company profits are at an all time high-TRUE. Guess why? It's because they are pumping an all time record in the amount. Simple math.

Oil company profits are in the range of 5-10% of the price/gallon.

TAXES are in the range of 30-40%/gallon.


Who is ripping who off?

My business is directly related to fuel costs. So, I've researched these facts.

But, we don't vote, we don't care. So stop kibitzing and VOTE.

djohns, honeslty it makes better sense for use to import a lot of oil, cause wehn supply starts to dry up, I want us to have plenty left here in the USA.

In other words, lets use up theirs first, then use ours.

We havent built new refineries because the cost does not outweigh the potential profits.

I don't disagree with your views, or logic.

The trouble is that how much are we willing to wreck our economy, over these issues?

Wells/refineries are NOT built overnight. Will it take $6.00/gallon to wake up the American public?

By then, it's too late.

If I was in charge, I would slowly start drilling off the southern atlantic, and build a new refinery over there. It could service a large amount of the east coast.

Alaska feeds west coast
Texas, Lousiana feeds middle and 50% of the east
and new south atlantic drilling feeds the other 50% of the east.

Makes good sense to me, hopefully one day the envirowhacos will allow it.

it may allready be to late to avoid $6 per, the oil men around here say it will take 10 years to ramp production back up 'cause all the equipment was sold over sea's and the have nothing left to work with!

It's still 3.17 here in Ct but I live 2 miles from the Mass border I just paid 2.79 up there...... Ct does not get my tax money from gas...
