my aunt had her apartment entered several times, always someone who has a key. Things moved around, etc, she's been putting tame on the door and the tape is broken when she gets back. She got a new lock, but I think it's the building manager thats doing it,
I need a program that can monitor through a webcam and record (and send) if there is movement.

I use one of these programs for my office. Bought it online here: http://www.digi-watcher.com/ 2 years ago. Works great. You can set the time frame that it monitors for movement. When it detects movement, it will record short video segments to the hard drive and also email a series of 5 still pictures to whatever email address you select (which means you get to see who it was even if your computer gets stolen). Very easy to set up and work with, too. I only get "false alarms" two or three times a year.

we have cops, but i dont know if anything actually gets stolen. Untill then, there is not much they can do. I just doont likle the idea of some creep coming and going as they choose.

I also went with X-10 equipment. It's cheap, effective and faitly reliable. HOWEVER, I would look elsewhere if I were you, as ever since I got it, I have been spammed to death by them, and my virus blocker blocked their software that was supposed to allow me to monitor my surveilance cameras from anywhere online. It's the one thing that didn't werk ,and it was a real dissapointment.

bandit, that is just sick. That would scare the dookie outta me if I were her. He is evidently watching her every move in order to know when she comes and goes. I'd almost feel better if he DID take something then you'd know he just a thief. Is it common practice for landlords to enter apartments without some sort of notice ?

I hope you find out what he is doing in there, he might be some sort of sicko.

Of course, LF.. But his aunt needs to get the skinny on this POS before he "snaps" so he can be placed somewhere far away from humanity.

i agree also with lf.gota get proof ask around with other tenants or neighbors also.
i'm a maintence man for a university housing,so i enter houses all the time when my workorders get behind it may be a week or so later before im able to fix something small, but i always try to leave a note.had a tenant once that was supose to be out of town so i went to remove her sink and install a vanity.she came out of a backroom with a gun scared the crap out of both of us:^so i holler like hell now when i go in to units no matter if there supose to be gone or not.
