Linkage prob plz help

Ihave a 76 model 85hp rude (model#85693G)(Serial#J0007213) Did some work on the lower unit and cant seem to get the gears right....Can anyone tell me how many turns i need to get the right setting....Only ajustmentthat i have is the gear connection right under the carb............thx in advance

thx for the help man but i dont see my motor size in this link. and dont quite understand how this chart works....

Are you talking about adjusting the shift rod inside the lower unit? Which adjustment are you referring to under the carb?
