Quick Question About Hub

How can I tell if I have a Flow Torq hub? Were they standard equipment on some outdrives? Mine is a 1999 3.0L Alpha One on a 1999 Regal bowrider. I am getting ready to make a prop change to SS and need to know if I need to order a hub kit in addition to the prop.

BTW, I am looking into an Apollo 19p or Solas 19p and maybe even a 20p four blade. I currently have a 21p Al and it has no holeshot at all.

It's not the drive, it's the prop . . . If you buy a prop that is a Flow Torq style, then you need the hub kit. It is possible that your existing prop has the goodies and you could use them, but if it was me I would want a complete set so that I ended up with a complete spare prop out of the deal. I'd also get a spare thrust washer and nut for the same reason. Flow Torq

You may even want to consider a 17pitch. I run a 3.0L on an 18' SeaRay and the 17p is my "skier prop" while my 19p spare is my running around (up to 44mph gps with a light load) prop.

The hub question I don't follow. Your 21p on there now... does it have a removable hub? If it's pressed in then you'll need a new hub kit for any new props you get. And like QC stated... it's always nice to have a full functioning spare on hand anyway.

You should repost your pitch selection stuff in the prop forum. Without posting your current wide open throttle RPM, correctly trimmed and with an average load, there is no real good way to guide you on pitch.
