Nice motor, thats alot of Money. Make sure you break it in properly and she'll last you a real long time. As for the bimini tops... how fast do you think you'll be going? 100 mph d:) ? They should be fine at the speeds a 115 will bring you.

Re: etec 115

The is no user breakin with any E-Tec, just computer managed double oiling (two hours > 2500 RPM).

Re: etec 115

I guess it all depends on how big the boat is that the ETEC 115 is going to be attached to. We just put a 60hp ETEC on at 16 Vbow and it does 30mhp (GPS) so fast that if your sitting facing back, it will slide you right out of the seat. And at 60mph on the freeway, a bimini top will last about 4 minutes (sad experience discovering that fact) Enjoy your new ETEC, they are really an amazing outboard

Re: etec 115

it's a 19" deck boat. It would run 25mph WOT with an 88 70 hp merc with low comp on one cylinder. i'm guessing/hoping I'll see around 40mph + @WOT now.

The engine really is amazin!! No breakin, it is quiter that a 4stroke yamaha and lighter than my old 70hp merc. The literature also states it can run for 5 hours without oil. 5 HOURS WITHOUT ANY OIL" WOW!! It also passes CA emmisions, and has zero maintenance for 3 years.

Thanks for the input!!!

Supppose to pick it up today...8)8)
