Current gauges are TELEFLEX, but over 20 years old. Nothing wrong with my current gauges other than they are sun faded (although I question the accuracy of the Tach). Had an opportunty to upgrade my gauge package (gota love EBay!) to the VECTOR series from TELEFLEX which is blue, the old gauges are red.

I have an '82 OMC Sringer 800.
The trim guage that is coming is supposed to be for: Mariner/Mercury O/B’s.
Mercruiser, OMC Cobra,
& Volvo DP/SX I/O’s.
Force ‘95 & on 40, 50,
90 & 120 single ram,
Yamaha 2001

TELEFLEX says they "officially" have no gauge for my set-up.

I pulled up some trouble shooting info from TELEFLEX which says the sender for the new gauge should read 10 ohms down, 167 ohms up. My OMC manual says my sender is "0" ohms down, 100 ohms up.

Looking for some opinions as to A) hook up the new gauge and see how it reads (my guess is that it might peg the gauge UP and not read full down)
B) play around with adding a small resistor in series to balance the reading
C) leave things alone and put up with the old gauge's mis-matched faded color.

Re: Trim indicator swap out

I would go ahead and try the new gauge on the old sender, these were never terribly accurate anyway and it might be close enough?
