Evinrude Big Twin 40 Fires on one plug only

hi people new to all this i have a 1974 evinrude big twin 40 that only fires on on plug any suggestions what it might be thanks

First priority is make sure it isn't the plug itself. Then proceed with a compressioon test and check for spark on both wires. Should jump a 1/4" gap---not just the spark plug gap. Chances are by the time you get this far you will have zeroed in on the problem and can proceed on from there.

the compression is ok but no spark at the plug even though the same plug fires on the other ht lead its looking as though its the coil
