First, thanks in advance. Weird thing happened today, was out on the boat, fished 2 spots for 1 hr each, moved to a new spot, shut off motor, drifted for 40 mins and it would not start, turned over, just no start. Had to use vessel assist to get in. 1st tie in 10 yrs with this boat/motor. When I got home, I turned it over and it started on the first try!
Now I am wondering what could have caused it not to start? I would actually rather have it still broken so I can "fix" something before I use it again. Any idaes? Thanks again.

Was it over heating when turned off? Maybe a faulty ignition switch? Check ignition power lead to coils. Sounds like an electrical problem.

Clint,
I did not get any overheat indications, no light or horn. It also cranked and but would not start. Could the power lead cause this? Thanks again John.

Maybe the neutral or ignition switch? I am sure it is a simple replacement part which is inexpensive. Start from the controls and go from there.
