I am considering a early 90s Scarab sport, center console, 30 ft bnat. Wanting to put 3 engines on it, 250-300 hp range each. who makes the brackets that put the engines back from the boat, and what would be a safe hp for this hull? is there any online site for this?
thanks,
HUD

those have no hp rating. put all you want on it, as long as you can keep them afloat.

A lot of the calculations about max HP are based on what weight motor the stern of the boat can support without having waves break over the transom when stopping or at rest. Since this is a big money acquisition better get a hold on the numbers before you spend the dough.
One thing to be aware of is the difference in weight between the old 2-stoke and new 4-stroke motors. Since you are dealing in mulitples the difference could be substantial.
There's also the question of trim. If you move the center of gravity too far aft the hull may tend to plane with the bow a lot higher than desireable.

Hudman, My neighbor has an early '90s Scarab SuperSport, which is the 35' CC version. He has twin 454/Alpha I drives. That boat also came in the 3 OB configuration, I believe. The boat does ~50MPH with the two bigblocks, FWIW.d:)

My neighbor has one with twin 198? OMC 225s on it. Can't give you performance data as he is still sorting it out. Neat rig though.
