1986 25hp evinrude how do I connect

How (where) do I connect the two battery leads to the engine??
I have bought a CLYMER manual but it does not explain the basics of setting the engine up to start.

The negative cable will bolt to the engine block and the positive will go to the starter selenoid terminal.

thanks.. which side as you look at the sol starter head on does the positive connect to? left ( rear of engine)or right?(front end)
Is there a particular bolt / lug to attach ground (earth) cable to?
also Apologies for idiot questions but i do not want to get it wrong..

NICKNICK.

I think its time to look-up the wiring diagrams in the Clymers Manual for your particular outboard.
It will show which side of the Selenoid to connect the Positive (+) RED.

Most outboards come with the Red / Black cables already hooked-up. I would ask the guy you bought it from what else he forgot to include.
