The motor starts and idles perfect even though it seems to be getting a little more difficult each time out. I cleaned the carbs, drained the gas for any sign of water, pumped the bulb while running, changed the gear oil, and cleaned all connectors and fuses. Also thought it might have been the ignition/kill/choke switch so i disconnected the black/yellow kill wire and it still missed, after fishing a little while it cranked up and ran off perfect, then back to crap again.:'(

Motor: 1999 Johnson 115hp V4 Eagle ,JPLEEM, OIS(optical ignition system), still using the oil injection.

This is killing me

Squeezing the fuel primer bulb as you mentioned above, while underway will help test for a failing fuel pump.Intermittedly pushing in on the key primer will help test for a carburetor related fuel delivery issue.Did you try this? Also insure that the fuel tank is venting properly. Before cold start-up,will the fuel primer bulb pump up firm and hold moderate hand pressure? This will insure whether all of the carb float needles are at least seating. If all of this checks out ,you may be chasing an ignition issue.I don't have enough info on your symptom to advise any further.

Yes, all the above checked out fine. I'm leaning towards a faulty power pack, but not sure.

how is the rubber seal on the cowl cover base and are there any rubber grommits missing in the bottom of the engine surround? one possibility before you do power packs is water getting inside the cowl while underway then vapourizing and getting sucked into the carbs. takes a while to build up when you start and then gets worse with regular use. if you are in salt water you will see signs of corrosion in there if this is the issue,
