I dunno if this is the right place to ask this question but here goes...

In the back of every boat there is a air release valve or cap to realese Air when you fill up with gas. I lost mine by unscrew it off while filling up with gas and forgot to put it back on.

I have a 1996 Spectrum 17.5 footer....fishing boat.

Now, Here is the question, Where Can I get a cap like I had on that boat. Now I have a big hole with the chance that water might go in the gas.

Thank you

Re: Lost Air realease Cap

Are you talking about the black plastic cap, about 3/4 inch in diameter, on the back of the transom?

The cap should have had slots in it to allow air flow. No need to remove it when filling.

It is to allow air flow when gas expands/contracts due to temp changes, and to allow air to enter the tank as gas is sucked out of it.

I believe Spectrum used a vent made by Perko.
The gas cap is also made by Perko, about $7 for a replacement.

You can get a whole new vent for about $15, google "Perko gas tank vent"

Well, lets see.
You could thank me by taking me fishing. :D
I prefer walleye for eating, and northern for action.

Hmmm, Timmins is a bit out of the way.

Cheers.
