Steering(Rotary or Rack)

I am in need of a new steering cable(15ft deep v with 1982 70hp
johnson). Have been looking at cable systems on this site a have
seen 2 kinds, rack steering system the same type I have right now and Rotary Steering system. Which system is better?

Depends on what kinda room you have behind your dash I have had both....what size engine?

It's Not a question of which is Better,.........

It's a Question of which will Fit under the Dash........

Go back in with what you take Out.............

i personally prefer Rotary, and it takes less room.

I think there is alot of room, about the size of a 24 pack of bottles.

I think rotary is better and more reliable.The ones ive installed on friends boats work well.It also has verry low torque steer compaired to the rack steering.

to me rotary is an easier install also.

I had both. The rack was (is) no feedback and I like that better than the rotary. You can take your hands off the wheel anytime and it stays put.
