Is it possible that is 2790 That would be a 69 built by
Chrysler. It appears the 69 was the last year for the 9.2. Champion J4J plug at .030. Points set at .020.
24:1 fuel mix.Tillotson MT-97A carb.A Chrysler manual would serve you well.

if this engine has been sitting, go to the engine faq forum, and read "Awakening a sleeping outboard"

You said your number was VWB 29909A I only find VWB 27909. My book doesn't list the prefix or sufix letters.prefix VWB indicates a West Bend or Chrysler built motor.Chrysler bought West Bend in 65 thus it
is a 69 9.2 hp.built by Chrysler based on their 9.9.Is it possible you miss read the number as 29909?

rechecked VWB 29909A it's correct. No other markings other than built by MW

Re: owners manual, fuel mix and any other info

I was only able to find VWB 299091 ('69 9.2hp). Perhaps the fellow setting up the punches was a little off that day. Wouldn't be the first time! :)

Like any other outboard, it'll need it's impeller replaced every few seasons regardless of use. I'm sure tashasdaddy just didn't want you to ruin it by overheating.
