Remote control box

Hello Everybody,

can i use the remote control box from my 1989, 30 hp Evinrude on a 1985, 50hp VRO Johnson?
If i buy the new engine mentioned above, what do i have to watch at especially? The compression of the cylinders?...?

compression. spark. lower unit oil (water). look for obvious scaring on nuts and bolts (work that has been done and why) new paint ( What is it covering up? overheating?) as long as the electrical connection plug matches you should be ok. the conversion kit is almost as expensive as a new controller.

Remote will work....Good motors. I would make it a point to change the water pump impeller and lower unit fluid right away...Personally, I would pre-mix until I verified that the VRO (If still connected) is working....
