I searched all my links, and can't find anything (I know I'm somehow missing the one I looking for!)...so, anyone have a location for a Impeller...Johnny 52-53 5hp TN28. Thanks a bunch!

Get one for a CD 5.5hp and ream the center hole to fit your larger drive shaft. The rest is the same. OMC part number 277181 NAPA/Sierra # 18-3001

laingsoutboards.com has it for $ 14.95. incluides housing, impeller, and screws. i've used them for my 55 15 hp, Jim is great to work with.

Hey, leave one for me...I asked first! Thanks, I'm on it. I have 3-4 over here coming apart for the parts, but I sold a TN Recoil to a guy back east, and he needs a new impeller. All the ones I have are pretty well shot. Thanks again..

Does anyone know if that same impeller (Johnson TN model) is usable in an OMC Gale 5hp, same vintage, with neutral clutch? It takes an odd size but otherwise "standard" looking impeller. Not the wobble-style "rotor" of the direct-drive Gale 5's. How about the CD 5.5 impeller that F_R mentions - would that work with modification? Anyone done it? I've got three (!) of these old Gale 5's that could use new rubber.

Yes the 5hp Gale 5D10 motors with neutral clutch use the same impeller as the TN Johnson. Yes you can modify the 5.5 impeller by reaming the hole. It's been done lots of times. In fact the Gale 5D10 and Johnson TN are the same from the pump down.

As a side note, the Evinrude Fleetwins with the neutral clutch can also use the same impellers - if you lay them on a belt sander to lower the profile a bit to fit...
