johnson 35hp electric start

hi ive got a johson 35hp outboard ive just changed the impellor myself and was wondering if there should be some sort of gasket on the bottom leg near wear it disconnects to get to the water pump cheers

Johnson has been making 35hp outboards, on and off, for 50 years, Sam.

Which one do you have?

No gasket between the lower unit housing and the exhaust leg that it bolts to,if that's what you mean.
