Hello all. I'm new to the forum and could use a little help. Quick info about what I'm running- I've got a CC Mako 254 with twin 150 Optimax's.

I've been having some troble with one on my motors. It doesn't want to idle but runs great aside from that. Batteries and spark plugs are all new and just replaced. I checked compression on it and all are between 100-115 except the #1 cycliner. It's right at 60.

A couple questions for the ones who can offer guidance-
First is the low compression probable cause for my idle issue?
Second, what are my options with the motor?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Possible head gasket leaking. If you had holed a piston then there would not be any presure at all.

pull the head. see what you've got, could be just a head gasket, then it gets worse from there. you can't run it like it is, so it's not going to hurt anything to take a look. careful on the head bolts.
