This is my boat - she is a 14 foot Riamar, made in Portugal, with a 70 HP Evinrude and a 6 HP Evinrude as backup.

She was really run down when I found her so I stripped her to the bare shell and started from scratch.

Amazing job! Do you have any before pics? Did you redo the gelcoat or just compound and wax?

Our workshop supervisor is Admiral Ted...best seen at acmeoutboards.com Love those husky's. Used to have a G. Shepard/Husky/Timberwolf cross...she passed six years ago and still not over it. Ted helps fill the hole and keeps my company in the shop and afloat.

Siggi, job well done Like your colors and tie in of them. The dash is super. Like the mascot.

tas.....I have husky too, half husky that is, and she is half shepherd.

Each eye follows the respective genes; one shepherd brown and one husky blue. Looks funny but you get used to it. She is a super dog and is very quiet.

Nice boat. I too would like before pics and some descriptions.

Love the custom dash. Is it soft padded?

As they say around here, that is wicked awesome!

You did a fantastic job in every respect.

Is that a custom trailer? I ask because the tongue seems extra long with the hardmounted bow support and winch. Never seen one like that before...

Re: See what you can do with a 14-footer - PICTURES

I would like to apologize for the multiple postings - since this is the first time I post pictures, I thought I was only previewing the post, but to my horror, I now see the incomplete versions have ended up being posted as well. The final version (and the only one that should have gone on the forum) is in the Boat Restoration and Building section.

But thanks for all the compliments - yes, my dogs do come out with me. The proper one is mine and is a white German Shepherd and the little one is my wife's and is a Westie.

When I lived in Iceland, I used to have a Husky - great dog he was. My idea of a "proper" dog was always a GSD or Husky type of a dog. Huskys are rare here in England and my wife did not like the color of the traditional GSD. At the time, I did not even know that white ones existed, so when I found that out - bingo, problem solved! He is a fantastic dog, very clever and has just the right temperement. If he only had eyes in different colors, he would be bleeding perfect!

Anyway, trying to answer some of your questions -
The gelcoat was actually pretty good when I got it, just needed a good rubdown and polish and some minor touch-ups. The dash and the panels all around are slightly padded - there is a 1/3" foam under the vinyl.
The trailer is actually built around the boat - guess most of the boat could be considered "custom" but I just ended up doing it the way I thought best, but much to my relief, she does handle well. Thanks for all your kind words and again, sorry about the multiple posts. SJ

Sweet boat Siggi. Better get a safety chain on the bow eye to trailer.
