Re: See what you can do with a 14-footer - PICTURES
I would like to apologize for the multiple postings - since this is the first time I post pictures, I thought I was only previewing the post, but to my horror, I now see the incomplete versions have ended up being posted as well. The final version (and the only one that should have gone on the forum) is in the Boat Restoration and Building section.
But thanks for all the compliments - yes, my dogs do come out with me. The proper one is mine and is a white German Shepherd and the little one is my wife's and is a Westie.
When I lived in Iceland, I used to have a Husky - great dog he was. My idea of a "proper" dog was always a GSD or Husky type of a dog. Huskys are rare here in England and my wife did not like the color of the traditional GSD. At the time, I did not even know that white ones existed, so when I found that out - bingo, problem solved! He is a fantastic dog, very clever and has just the right temperement. If he only had eyes in different colors, he would be bleeding perfect!
Anyway, trying to answer some of your questions -
The gelcoat was actually pretty good when I got it, just needed a good rubdown and polish and some minor touch-ups. The dash and the panels all around are slightly padded - there is a 1/3" foam under the vinyl.
The trailer is actually built around the boat - guess most of the boat could be considered "custom" but I just ended up doing it the way I thought best, but much to my relief, she does handle well. Thanks for all your kind words and again, sorry about the multiple posts. SJ
