AP report

WASHINGTON - Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show. In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

Nah 12 footer but it will drag on about as long as this trial, mabe go to trial a little sooner seeing as he can only get indicted on one charge, rather than five.

On October 28, 2005, Libby resigned from his position in the White House, immediately after he was indicted on criminal felony charges by a grand jury. He was charged with:
· one count of obstruction of justice;
· two counts of perjury; and
· two counts of making false statements.
Each count carries a $250,000 fine, so, if convicted, he could face up to $1.25 million in fines. The charges also carry a maximum prison term of thirty years.

Yes, he will walk. He will "adjust" the paper work, just like hillary did, and it's over.

He was trying to take some of the heat off of Bob Ney.

He could have killed a man and the MSM won't cover this. The only way they hold his feet is if the TRUE story gets out and public outrage demands it. Not going to happen.

Why would anyone want to get over the fact they have a crimminal in government? Especially when they represent the party they support? Help me, is this some kind of liberal badge of honor?

Oh please Pointer, I'd bet every politician in the house and senate are criminals to some degree. Not that I'm ok with that, it just seems to be par for the course.

So, we should "Get over it"? If what you say is true, then all is lost. This is the Clinton defense. I don't care who it is or what their political persuasion, if they break the law, they are out. Why anyone would overlook a crimminal in congress is beyond my ability to understand.

That goes for Foley, Duke Cunningham, Ney, Jefferson (LA), Reid, Kennedy etc.....

Let the ethics commitee go over it and decide. At this point in time with the information I have seen so far,it seems that what he did is not against the letter of the law, although it is borderline.

Regardless of the ethics committee findings, Reid has zero moral authority when it comes to hiding money to avoid taxes. He is a hippocrit.

The vast majority are lawyers, that ought to tell you something.

Seems ol' Harry feels its ok to tip his housestaff with campaign funds, or so it is aledged.

Is this an ambush during the election season? Yep.

Is this important or serious? Not in my opinion.

Did he lie to cover it up? Well he claims his Lawyers told him it would be ok. I would really like to know who these lawyers are so I can never retain them, or he is lying.

The guy is a clown. But I hardly think this is a relavant issue.

He's "revised" his paperwork, so I guess it's OK now. Wonder if the IRS will let Wesley Snipes revise his paper work? Oh wait, he's not a senator, guess he gets aressted.

Re: Harry Ried... Will they let him walk?

crimminals in the white house????
surley you jest.
all they have to do is introduce a bill making any laws broken in the past six years ok and make it retroactive and "presto" no laws have been broken.

more things change the more they seem to stay the same.

seems there are currently 8 or 9 scandals running on both sides.
vote all the bums back home come november and again in 08 I say.
