73 65hp evinrude wiring help

I just bought a 73 65hp evinrude but the guy I bought it from had to keep the controls because it was center console and mine is not. I bought a johnson command center control and the key switch didn't work. I also bought a 8 pin wiring extension for it. I matched the wire colors and nothing happened. I can jump the wires and start it. I also bought a new key switch and nothing! Can anyone tell me were to get a wire diagram for this motor so I can trace the problem? Thanx

e mail me and i can send you what you neeed . can`t git the likk to pick to come up . can e mail a diagram. after re reading your post it could be your cylinoid .have sone one to hold the key and see if you have any power to cylinoid
