I am winterizing it for the first time, and I am a comfortable with stabilizing the fuel, fresh water system, fogging the carb. but not the drain plugs.

My manual has no info on draining the block, manifolds. Where are they, and how many???

Also where is the oil filter?? I have looked but no luck, the water seperator filter is in the front of the engine.

Is there a drain plug for the oil pan??

Also is there anything I am missing??

The oil filter is way back and down on the port side of the engine in the same place it is when the motor is in a car

In a nice way if you have to ask these questions its pretty risky to do the winterizeing your self unless you have soemone who knows how to do it help you the first time

You drain the oil by warming the engine up (on muffs), then shutting it off and suction pumping the oil out of the dipstick tube. You should see a threaded end, like a garden hose, on the dipstick.

I think there is a growing crowd of people that have never seen these old motors in a car/truck :$ In this world of quicky oil changes, if someone has even changed a car oil filter it was probably located near the front of the engine compartment.

I agree that it is always better to get some experienced help on the first time. Maybe even paying a shop, but you get to watch and observe.

Take it in to the professionals. Trying to save a couple hundred on a winterization isn't worth the expense and headache if you do it incorrectly. It could cost you thousands if that engine block cracks because of an incorrect winterization.
