I just reconnected my battery and I accidentally touched a black wire on the positive terminal and the red wire on the negative. There was a spark. I reconnected everything the only thing that seems to work is the trim adjustment. No power is to anything else on the boat. I checked all the circuit breakers but all seem to be O.K. What am I missing here.

Re: power isn't on

What do you have ?

Some boats have a fuse on the starter motor were the battery cable connects

You more than likely damaged the Alt

Again WHAT DO YOU HAVE :) there are a lot of different setups

It will not look like a normal fuse it will look like a small block of metal

If you ID it someone can tell you whats there

sterndrive. Like a chevy v-8. Ok got a parts breakdown of the engine. Here is were the breakdown is located http://adt-web.com/construct/9798_500.gif it is number 8. I move the 90 amp fuse up still nothing and then down still nothing. Mayby I have to replace. I really have never seen anything like this though cause you move the fuse up and down on a pivoting point. What is that and what am I missing here.

You need to check it with a meter if the power stops there you have found the first thing that got dammaged when you hooked up the cables wrong

What does that mean, in case you don't know, Chevy didn't actually make a sterndrive.
Mercruiser, OMC, Volvo, and others have been using Chevy V8's since the late 60's, now if you can't or won't give any info on what year, make, model you have, don't expect an answer.
Your link shows a 'FUSE', it's not a switch that you move up and down. IF it's bad replace it.

After moving the fuse up and down trying to make it work, and hooking up the batt cables backwards to begin with, It sounds to me like you need to stay out of the engine compartment and not touch anything.
Find a certified Mercruiser dealer/mechanic and save yourself some money.
