1970 electric shift 85hp V4 Rude. Neighbor's, and I'm going to pull the lower. No manual, but this is child's play to me. Just need to know if any gremlins will bite me.
Is there another bolt under the anode/trim tab?
Where do the wires disconnect?
I can't see any side plates on the middle leg.
Far as I can tell its in forward now, off the boat, and the motor is toast...filled up with straight gas at a marina...bingo! Thanks much!

The disconnects are on the starboard side of the powerhead, near the cylinder head. Disconnect them, squirt som oil on the cable and it pulls down and out when you drop the gearcase. If you have any plans to put it back, tie something onto the wires to provide a means of pulling it back up.

Yes there is a bolt under the trim tab.

It will always be in forward gear anytime it is not running because it takes hydraulic pressure to shift into anything other than forward.

Thanks, kinda like the 63 40hp I'm working on. The motor is coming apart for the good parts, then we go beat up the stupid marina gas jockey with a fried block. Thanks again
