If you are talking about the tach connection, you can get the harness from any BRP dealer or there are aftermarket ones also. The BRP part number is 174732.

EDIT: You can find the harness at the BRP site by choosing O/B Accessories and Instruments under that catagory. Harness runs about $30 from BRP.

BRP is Bombardier Recreational Products, successor to OMC after the bankruptcy.

They have been kind enough to post parts manuals for most of the outboards since 1968.

Unfortunately, they don't sell parts at retail. But,you can get the part numbers and that is a huge help.

Copy the link to your browser, without the quotation marks:

"http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=E"

If you wish, you can download the parts lists to Excel and print the parts diagram, so that you will have a hard copy of your parts manual.

Re: Johnson control box - 3 pin connector

Many of the controls with the tachometer plug were wired
like this:

The grey wire connects to the "S" on the tachometer and to the grey wire in the wiring harness, which runs to the terminal block on the engine;

The Purple wire connects to the "I" on the tach and runs to the positive terminal "A" on the ignition switch so that the tach is off when the ignition is off;

The Black wire runs to Ground on the tach and common ground "M" on the ignition switch.

Grey -------> O
Purple + -> O O <- -Negative Black
