an L-drive? I have a 1990 bayliner capri with a Force 90. I bought the boat recently (less than a month ago), and my seloc manual does not specify if I have an L-drive.
I am wondering so that if I have lower unit problems, I can more easily taylor my questions and research.

I am rather new to the world of boat ownership, so please bear with my newbie questions.

Thanks,
Dave

L drive is an I/O set up.Loosely similar to a Mercruiser but using an outboard powerhead.
Nothing to do with your motor.

If your motor looks like an outboard hanging on the back of a boat, you have an outboard.

If it has an outdrive unit, and the engine is IN the boat, under a cover, it is an L-drive.

They did make a 90 hp L-drive in 1990.
