Insurgent sniper video...

I have a link to an insurgent sniper video, but I'm assuming that since this is a moderated forum I can't post it.

If anybody wants the link, just tell me. It's not bloody, as its too far away to see that kind of detail, but by all means it's very clear whats happening. Please beware, if you do want to see it, you will be witnessing several American soldiers being killed.

I don't see how anybody could watch this video and NOT support our troops and GWB's efforts to kill people like this.

In order not to risk getting banned, I'm going to ask permission to post this link. If a moderator says no, it's not going up, period.

NOTE: This video is unedited, it only has an English voiceover to describe what the insurgent is saying in his own language.

Interesting! CNN won't show any images of the jets hitting the world trade center because it might upset the populace. But they are more than willing to run a video of American soldiers being sniped, all in the name of showing how things really are.

CNN would not show video of people jumping to their death from the WTC---They certainly showed countless times the planes hitting the towers. We all heard of the fact that people had jumped. They (as did other media) made the decision we didn't need to see it over and over. A good decision.

I don't want to see the sniper video either, but I think it important to know it is happening. It's important to face the reality of what's really happening over there, rather than some John Wayne vision of what we wish were happening.

It's easy to reach a State of Denial if we filter the news to fit what we wish the reality was, rather than what it is. In many other countries, the media is used as a propaganda machine for the powers that be. I hope our media never becomes that, and I do hope you are not suggesting that it become a propaganda machine.

PW, "filtering" and "proaganda" are effective tactics deployed by both sides. Where did CNN get this? and so, who's side are you on?

I'm not planning on seeing it. I understand what sniping is all about. I would happy however to watch some of our boys sniping. I would love to help out. If the DEMs win the elections then maybe I can help out here at home as the enemy infitrates with kit gloves by the new administration.. :|

I was told that CNN reporters were embedded with the insurgents to cover "their side" as they were picking off our guys. I dont know if the link to the video I have is a CNN video or not, thats not where I got it from, but it's sad if it's true. My curiousity was peaked when I heard that CNN had done this, but the sniper video I found may not be the same one.

It's still horrific nonetheless.

Is being embedded with the enemy as they shoot and kill our troops CNN's idea of "fair and balanced?" If so, they don't quite have the idea of fair and balanced down yet.

There is another point in this sniper video thing that most of you seem to have missed.
Until about a year ago,it was almost impossible to penetrate in this mostly moslem world.Information about the inner workings of the insurgents was almost impossible to come by.
Now some people have managed to penetrate into this dark world up to the point where they are shown, what most intelligence people would consider, important information.
If some newspaper people can get there,most certainly professional spooks can get there too.
These videos coming out of there, might very well be the price for succesful infiltration.
We shall see.

I have great respect for you powerful opinion.I will take it for what it is worth.
Maybe it is time for you to put your person where your opinion is. Why don't you sign up and go fight the war you so deeply believe in.Certainly,a person as strongly convinced of the justness of this war as you are, must make a difference on the battlefield.
Why wait for the democrats to win the election?They will invite the enemy to come to your doorstep.It is better for you to go to Iraq and destroy them there!

while the video is in poor taste it was sent to CNN.
there are some other video's that have been sent to other international news organizations as well showing various roadside and car bomb attacks.
its not hard to find them if you hunt a bit.
I do find it reassuring that our snipers are hunting theirs at the same time.
snipers are mostly a unique american invention.
prior to the revolutionary war here in the US sniping was mostly unheard of and the targeting of officers was considered barberic.
some very good reading on snipers and sniper warfare can be gotten from some of the russian/german conflicts.
that warfare was absolutly brutal.
but that was an actual war not a poorly planned and executed regime change.
no one can still say definitavly why we attacked Iraq and not attacked the place the actual money and terrists came from.
but we are not seen as Iraqi liberators by anyone anymore. they are seeing us more and more as occupiers and the home resistance is growing.

think about it.
if say the canucks invaded the northern boundries of the US and imposed canadian martial law what would the citzens do?
most would continue on feeding the kids and family as best they could. some would retreat into the woods and become resistance fighters usuing the same harrasement teqniques the iraqis are using.
we trained the taliban and al-queada in harrasment type gurillia warfare back in the 70's and 80's. some were actually trained in the states.
they learned well.
none of those groups could have taken on the russian army face to face.
however by constant sniping and harrasing they eventually beat the russian bear in a war of attrition.
The US trained,armed and finaced most of it.
same as the "gas" saddam used in the iran iraq conflict, the chemicals were supplied mostly by the US, Processsed ina british owned plant in Iraq and loaded by westernn technicians. the CIA provided weather data for the various altitude burts for the best aresol disbursion.
then we observed how it worked.
some of the weapons had never actually been used so we had saddam use them so we could test the toy without getting our hands dirty.
so yes we have a long dirty history with that reagion. no one trusts the US there much anymore and its haard to blame them.
but its ok, as we were supplying and training saddams forces the israelies were supplying and training the ayahtollas forces so it was even.

It was done so as to show footage in an attempt to demoralize the American public and get them to vote the libs in power. The libs have well stated their intentions in this theater, either by past inaction or by their current statements and demeanor. It is pure and simple 'cut and run' and that is what your allies, the terrorists are banking on.

As a sad update, I saw a screenshot from the sniper video that CNN played, and yes, it is the same one I have, but unfortunately I saw the video in its intirety (sp?)

I'm not going to get into a political arguement with anybody. That doesn't help anybody. Let's just support our troops, whereever and whatever they may be doing. They don't get to pick and choose where or what they do, so it's our responsibility to support them whereever they are. That is direct from a sergeant in the military who's been to Iraq in GW1 and 2. He said Iraq is FUBAR, but that they still need the support from home to keep up the morale.

Let's just do that for him, and for all of our service men and women.
