I'm looking for one to use in the car. I'd like to use it on the boat too, but , that's secondary. I want one with voice and a decent sized screen for my old eyes to see.
I've been thinking about the Gavin 2730 but it's damn pricy. Sony new one sux. Tom Tom sounds pretty good. Any reviews, input would help. I want to get the most for my money. Help

I really like the Garmin Nuvi 360 and 660's. The 660 seems to be a pretty decent. I know when it first came out it was $1000, but I have seen it in the $600's on some occasions. Its only downfall is the fm transmitter, but in my expirience those always suck. It has a fairly large wide screen. At my store we have 12 or so units displayed and the 660 is by far the easiest to read. JMHO

I have the talking Garmin. I love it. But for the data base in it. Push a button, and you get every restaurant for 25 miles, or push a different function, hotel, or gas station, or shopping center, or tow truck. They give you address and current phone number to boot.

Accurate unit, and can find 99% of the addresses I have punched in. Goofy to type on and a little scary to use when driving. Mine doesn't stick to the window worth a dam, but I keep it in a cupholder and it works fine.

We have an Alpine Blackbird in the Geek Squad Bug. (No I am NOT Geek Squad, but I drove the Bug around the parking lot......its a POS) but anyways...... I tried out the GPS and didnt really care for the antiglare coating on the screen. The touch and feel wasnt all that great.

Nice features, nice price, Garmin makes good stuff. I can't give you an opinion on the unit specifically, but I paid 900+ dollars for the unit I have a little over a year ago.

Its a good GPS unit in my opinion. Its a little big for my tastes, but the MP3 capabilities are someting that may make it worth getting. It also has a nice size screen. Overall I'm a fan of almost anything Garmin. Whats the price your looking at? The 2730 is pricey.

The price is to good .I wonderif it's a scam. There are 13 at that price from 3 different sellers. They all have the same price, add and end within an hr of eachother.
They are from 3 different parts of the country

Don't buy a stolen unit. Garmin knows the serial number and the internal unit number. Not only will you not be able to download updates, you will be busted for receiving stolen property.

If you want a talking navigator for your car that also operates in Marine mode look at the Garmin 276C or the 378/478. That's what I use (276C) and also use it portable when hiking.

Now I am going to move this whole thing to Non-boating Tech, where it should have been posted in the first place.

Well it was a scam. I purchased one and went to paypal to pay. I figured I'd use paypal credit because if you don't recieve the item they refund you all funds. I hit pay and the sellers e-mail came up unregistered.
I then went back to my account and cancelled the transaction. I called paypal security center and filled them in on all the auctions. They checked and agreed that the sellers I.D's were highjacked. I saved paypal credit over 3000..
