Do '92 Chevy 4.3 litres use torque-to-yield headbolts?

I'm losing a quart of coolant a week and judging by the steam blowing out of my exaust pipe, I'm guessing that I'm 'bout to be replacing head gaskets. I'm hoping all that I'm going to need are gaskets: head, intake, valve covers etc. but I want to make sure that those head bolts are reusable and not torque-to yield. Thoughts?

I do not know for sure, but a look at autozone's website, Head bolt kit is not available.

...I would assume if they were T-Y, they would be available to buy.

The bolts for my '93 Geo that DO have T-Y are available at autozone.

no t/y on that engine, but do a compression check, that engine was prone to bad intake or intake gaskets causing the problem you are having.....

Thanks guys. I'll give the compression tester a whirl first but knowing my luck, it'll be the worst case sceniario.

I had the 4.3 in my '94 blazer... intake gasket was leaking to the external. Everyone I talked to said that engine was very prone to it leaking.

Here's hope to you that only Intake has to be removed and not heads.... either way, not that bad of a job, once you get all the junk out of the way.
