69 Johnson 85 HP points gap

Hi, I have a 85esl69 Johnson, it is runs very well but breaks down at 4500 rpm, I am not sure what the points gap should be any help apprecaited.

Set the gap at .010.

Could you explain "breaks down" a little more?
