on my 95 mercury (25 hp) my flywheel has some phillips screws beneath it. Will the whole thing come off togethor with a puller? or do I need to remove the phillips screws first?

So I just leave them screwed in to take the flywheel off right?

Re: question about flywheel removal

yes just take off the center nut/bolt and use a puller
do not use a hammer on flywheel, and do not put it on a metal surface, do not drop it either

Re: question about flywheel removal

ok, I'll be taking th flywheel off today. Is there anything I should do once it is off to check the trigger to see for sure that its the problem?

In other words, what would you do once it was off? Thanks!

BTW: You know I am the same post your answering below right?

O.K., I'll try to get it off this evening and have some details on here tomorrow. Anything else I should do you think?

Wouldn't it be a good idea to tell us "why" you think the flywheel needs to be removed? If the engine won't start, that's certainly not the first thing to come apart! Give us some details.

Would be helpful to state that. If was stated in another thread it is also helpful to keep one thread going rather than having us do the searching.

Re: question about flywheel removal

Sorry about that, it was my fault. Yea, I need to take the flywheel off to replace the trigger. I'll be doing it this afternoon. Hopefully it is grounding or something and I can fix it without having to buy one, but I doubt it.

Sorry again.:'(
