Fuel leaking out of gear flange

Chrysler 35hp 1974 runs fine plug colour is fine power is there. but its pissing out fuel from the gearbox flange when its running... help?

Chrysler was not much for reburning unused fuel. Typically any condensed fuel is recirulated back into the lake. Both cylinders have hoses that go to the motor leg and drain into the lake. To minimize it use a decent hot plug like L82C and decarb motor frequently. I built a catch for the fuel and have it attached to the lower cowling. Not the prettiest thing in the world but not as embarassing as gas streaming behind the boat. If you tilt motor up when trailering it you will have more fuel coming out due to the carb cant seat as well when it is at an angle.

Roscoe. I did it just to keep your Wisconsin lakes clean. I seldom use it on the Minnesota side. :D
