Re: Election results...

Well it is no surprise the division on the war has led to the
change in the house. It is good that it has happened at
midterm. In the next two years a very clear picture of the
liberal agenda will emerge as its citizens jump from the frying pan into the fire.
You all have a greatly improved opportunity to come out
on the short end of the stick in the war being waged against America.
Good Luck.
Terrorists are people too.

He had it spot-on.
We didn't learn from the last time the Demonrats held the power and we're in for it now.

We Americans can be such a stupid lot.

One party rule is always a disaster.

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

I didn't hear you singing that tune when the Democrats controlled Congress for nearly forty years!

I can't help but be disappointed with the general quality of candidates across the board. Not a statesman in the bunch.
We go from what doesn't work to what doesn't work.

Your right Boomya the democrats took forty years to self-destruct. Newt Gingrichs Contract on America was implemented in 1994. As a result of a 54-seat swing in membership from Democrats to Republicans, the Republican Party gained a majority of seats in the House for the first time since 1954.

Now here we are in the year 2006 we see a shift of even more seats, and the counting is still going on.2006 minus 1994=Wow only took the Republicans 12 years now that is what I call efficiency, good job .

Re: Election results...

I know you guys are focused on "national" politics but how about a short break for a local rant:

we got this governor, ran for reelection (won), republican, but I wouldn't for the a..hole because he diverted the freswater fishing stamp which was "dedicated" to hatcheries improvements, to general budgetary purposes, and on top of which, his first campaign promised a property tax reduction of $3000 apiece...well it finally came through this year...a grand total of $17.00 (impact of rate change independent of valuation). thing is we had another republican candidate running as an independent. why in the blankety blank would we reelect this guy is beyond me.

thanks for listening...as you were...

Wow $17.00 can’t even feed the family at Big Macs, with that kind of change. You can be sure he will be bragging about it the next election. Like our bonehead Governor, he is trying to sell some of or state forest land.Unfortunauttley it is some that I frequent, some of the best hiking trails in the state.

Crunch, I knew you were not too bright but you get election info in USA from the BBC. Did you know we won our independence many years ago.

Tell us what other news you can enlighten us with. From some of your remarks in the past you must get your war news from the Iraqi network.

You make the reich such an easy target.

jtexas, Isn't it great we have a governor elected with a 40% majority. He is a disgrace and embarassment for all Texans. He got only the hard right republican vote and others split all opposed to him. The ole yellow dog label may apply to both parties but on this one the Repub. just flat missed the boat.

If he had any honor he would resign but he does not.

CJY gained a lot of respect from me by his response to my mistake, you just confirmed my opinion of you.

yeah, txsw but you gotta admit, he's got great hair.

That guy really is your typical sleazeball politician. I sure hope he's not looking to follow in W's footsteps.

Maybe with all of these Democratic seats being filled and Hillary on the horrizon ,we the people can finally hear some 'specifics to this grand plan and vision that these liberal headhunters have in store for the saftey and well being of this great nation. So far the Democratic vision is about as clear as Nostradamus' quatrains.I can almost hear the lame excuses now.First thing we need to do is lighten that gavel up for Nancy in order to meet co- gender specifications.

Personally I saw it as getting results from a outside non-biased perspective. The only thing Custom did wrong was mix up his colors. No big deal.

At the end of 2 years, it will still be W's fault... as the car bombs, and plane bombs kill thousands here at home.

Hey, look at the bright side, we can save billions by having the terrorists here close and handy instead of spending all that money to have troops where they live.

True enough, and the worst part about it is they ran on a conservative platform and became the majority to essentially advance a conservative mandate.
Conservatism was used, then convoluted by the (liberal by definition)neo-cons.
What we had was Republican neo-cons poseing as conservatives, governing in liberal fashion.
Since very few liberals, moderates or neo-cons are able to recognise conservative idealogy they've been successfully duped into believing that what they just voted out were conservatives.

In essence the Republicans not only trashed themselves but conservatism also. And conservatism idealogy with the exception of a couple Supreme Court Justices, has very little to do with American politics today.

In all practicality, I don't think the difference in the Senate is going to be a big deal.

Unfortunately SW, you are right. We did not exactly lose a true conservative group. Had they been, the story might have been different.

I cannot say i had a stirring admiration for the rep monopoly...........

In 6mo-1yr we will have a big international occurence.... you see they mean business and we dont.....and history has shown as much, it will continue to teach us.

For now we can only have hope...........and hope although enternal, and is just that. and that is what your betting on...bad choice if you run the numbers.

Re: Election results...

Hmmmmm... you are saying we might have another attack?... in our home land?

I think this goes without saying.

The terrorists got just what they were looking for.

The Democrats will cut the funds for the war.

Pull the troops out of Iraq, and to the short sighted Haraws of the blind, claim victory.

Look for 9/11 all over again.. or worse... much worse...

Can you say, or spell, IED's with a "nuclear component?"... they call that a "dirty bomb"

I call it "area denial”... for the next 1000 years, right here in the US.... in a city near you,,, or maybe right on top of your loved ones

The troops are coming home, so is the terror.

God bless the Democrats...
