attwood battery switch, good piece?

Was looking into using a attwood battery switch. My goal is simple. Have two batteries in the boat. One for cranking, and one for accesories, at the same time, having the alternator charge both at the same time or one at a time, if i choose. Is this a good piece for my goal? it will only charge the battery u have selected
these switch's are good but watch the rated amps, the more the better
the best way is buy a isolator then go to the switch this way both batteries charge

The switch will work, with an isolator or combiner it's better. Make sure the switch is a "make before break" so that if needed you can switch it from 12 or both while the engine is running however, NEVER turn it to off while running or you will toast the regulator in the alternator.
