Isreal is still there and have not done so bad considering that everyone in the region wants them wiped out. Egypt and Syria have tried..but they're still there so they must be doing something right.

Rat... Massive, sustained Military action by Israel last time all but had Hezbollah ready to surrender. Of course Israel bowed to international pressure to stop short of that goal and now Hezbollah has re-armed to the same degree as before.

I'll bet next time Israel tells the world to take a hike and will finish the job.

We could do the same thing in Iraq but on a much larger scale, but this country lacks the guts to offend the world community so we will continue to stumble along just as we have been.

You really think for a minute that Israel's enemies were ready to cave, and Israel backed away due to international pressure? Israel has the same kind of disdain for international opinion that the neocons here do. There is NO WAY that Israel was really that close to solving their military problems with the palestinians once and for all and then just bagged it and withdrew.

Incredible, do any of you think if we wiped out Iraq tomorrow we would have won the war on terrorism. It is not centered there. Iraq is just a killing field. This administration screwed the poch when they invaded based on bad intell. or whatever the reason.

Hate to tell you this, but Hezbollah is out of Lebanon and has nothing to do with what is going on in Gaza other than they all want Israel completely destroyed. The rest of my post stands, Israel could easily solve it's problem with Hezbollah and most likely will next time.

Of course it wouldn't end the war on terror, but it would be a huge blow to the enemy and it might bring the some of the chickensh@t countries in on it with us and it can be won. Bring home the troops is an absolutely horrible plan. It shows that the USA is a country that doesn't have the backbone to finish what it started (Somalia and the rise of OBL).

This is a world wide problem, not unique to Iraq. But as long as these whacko’s flow there, it is to our advantage. We have the best trained personnel to deal with them there.

President Bush stated after 9-11 that this war would take a long time to finish, and it is. Our society is so used to instant gratification, that many can not fathom the length of time that it will take to finish this. But it CAN be done.

I personally favor giving the Iraqi government a year to get their act together, while at the same time doing a build up like we did just before Desert Storm... then go in and sweep the country right up to the Iranian border and the Pakistan border.... continue on into Syria, level it.

Pull back all the troops and post most on the Iranian border and let then know they are next and it isn't very far in the future.

Of course the limp wrist, pantie soaking, "let's give peace a chance" libs will be aghast at such a notion, but this is a war on terror, not a police action to contain it.

There isn't a country in that region that would be more than a speed bump to an all out assault by our military might, and by such an action you would put the fear of whatever god they worship in them, and most likely stop the support counties like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Syria openly give the terrorists.

Or we can "BRING THE TROOPS HOME" and fight them on our home field.... now that’s lame, but par for the poster.

Continue into Pakistan and Iran. Then, when done with that, pay a visit to Saudi Arabia.

I lived in the Middle East for 5 years and while that certainly doesn't make me expert, it does provide a bit of insight regarding how they (Muslims) think. As my French friend working for Thompson Missile once said: Different connectors".

I agree with this. That's why I was opposed to starting such an ill-conceived war in the first place. Because now that we're in there, we can't do anything to look weak or loose face, so we get suggestions like this one. Raze the whole country and two or three next to it, just to make sure everyone fears us. Unfortunately, making everyone fear us is not going to make all the terrorists disappear.

Even right wing columnist George Will wrote that Iraq has possibly been the worst foreign policy disaster ever for the US. These kinds of suggestions, or "plans" if you will, prove that out.

Unfortunately, making everyone fear us is not going to make all the terrorists disappear.

No it won't, but if a country know that they will be destroyed for harboring or supporting terrorists, that will be the beginning of the end for them.... like, where you going to go?

If we took Iraq by rolling over it in 100 hrs. and continued right into Syria and took it in another 50 hrs. then parked on Iran’s border and told them they have 3 days to get all terrorist out... what do you think Iran would do?... fight us?.... another speed bump.

I read in the news today that multiple Arab countries want to send money to Hamas, but they can't find a bank in the world to work with because of US sanctions on other banks that did work with the terrorists.... and the Depends crowd say we are losing...
