loctite is a liquid you apply on the threads, comes in blue, red, and green variations. You want the blue. Permatex makes a similar product in the same colour schemes.

Hi.
The Plate or butterfly doesn't care what bolt you put in there. I have not done your particular repair but it may be possible to get a Metric bolt just a little larger in diameter and run a tap thru the shaft.
If you have had one bolt come loose I would take the others out one at a time, clean the threads and use Blue Loctite in putting them back. Just a precaution.d:)

How hot can that stuff get? The motor gets pretty hot in there doesn't it? I guess that is what it is made for. Thanks James.

I believe this topic is getting confused. The problem is not?the butterfly screws, its the airbox plate and its mounting screws?you should never remove the butterfly screws ,unless totally unavoidable, those screws should be peened to prevent backing out.Yep,loctite any screw that could find its way into the engine.I do like the heli-coil fix f it can be done as well.

Right Mike, NOT the butterfly screws. But the mounting screws.
